Get ready for an influx of silly selfies because Facebook has just purchased the popular face swapping app, Masquerade, which has been downloaded over 10 million people already. With a number that large, its safe to assume you’ve seen a face swap or two on your timeline, but if you didn’t know about Masquerade yet, here is a little bit of info we gathered about the company and the app.

The Masquerade app lets you apply animated filters over your phones front facing camera and even lets you swap portions of your face. Facebook plans to keep Masquerade’s full functionality, but integrate its technology into Facebook, making it more like the Snapchat app. BBC.com mentioned that Facebook has yet to disclose how much it has paid for Masquerade.

“At Masquerade, we’ve worked hard to make video more fun and engaging by creating filters that enhance and alter your appearance,” the couple-month-old-startup said in a blog post. “Now, we’re excited to join forces with Facebook and bring the technology to even more people. Within Facebook, we’re going to be able to reach people at a scale like never before.” This statement already holds true as they include a section specifically for designers, all around the world, to create their own filters and make them available for users in the Filter Store.

Below you will find a video that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted to his Facebook page on Wednesday to show off Masquerade while wearing a digital Iron Man mask. He says, “No, I haven’t also built an Iron Man suit. I’m using this app Masquerade, that lets you put real time filters on your videos. And today I’m excited to share that the team behind Masquerade is joining Facebook,” said Zuckerberg.
